CAR TAKES OUT NATURALGAS LINE

 FireCompanies.com    March 10, 2005    No Comments

At around 1400 hours this afternoon 45 65 63 E57 TR43 RIT were dispatched to the Amoco Station at 3100 Edgmont Avenue for a report of a vehicle into the building with a gas leak and active fire. TA45 under the command of Chief Iacono 459 arrived to find that an elderly woman had struck the high-pressure gas line for the service station but the leak was after the shut off valve. The car had missed the building and there was no fire. Chief Iacono secured the shut off valve and the incident was under control. PECO gas crews were working about two blocks away and were on scene in minutes to secure the service for the building.
